Jorah

Meet Jorah!  Jorah is a sweet, silly and fun companion. He enjoys cuddling, car rides, runs, walks, and playing with other dogs. Jorah is 8 years old, neutered, current on vaccines and weighs about 110 pounds (he needs to lose about 25lbs that he put in the last two years ❤️). Jorah’s owner has had him since he was a puppy and has done a wonderful job of ensuring he is well socialized and knows love.

From his owner:

Jorah has been my best friend for 7 years and has helped me out of depression by giving me cuddles when I was sad and forcing me to get out of the house and exercising to take him on walks/runs. He is a handsome and smart dog that would be a great addition to a home that can provide him with a fenced in yard and walks/runs a few times a week. Preferably he will have another dog to keep him company. I am currently in the process of joining the US Coast Guard and will not be able to give him the attention he deserves while going to basic training and not being home for several weeks or months out of the year. He is completely house trained and does not bark. He knows sit, lie down and will even pull you on a skateboard while listening to a few basic commands like left/right and heel. Jorah is good with other dogs and enjoyed living with a smaller dog (French bulldog) for a year when I had a roommate.

Jorah would enjoy living with a dog companion and he especially likes to play with dogs who are okay with his level of energy (he tends to jump around a dog in his excitement about play and not all dogs are okay with this). He is good on leash and only gets overly excited about seeing other dogs when they bark and fuss at seeing him. Jorah has not lived with cats and though he has shown his natural prey drive by whining in excitement when he sees squirrels and chases after birds, an indoor cat introduced carefully and properly is a possibility.

Jorah is a good boy and can be left in the home when his people are gone and does not get into trouble. However, he will get into mischief if he hasn’t gotten out for exercise in a couple days (ie, gets into the garbage). He is currently living in an apartment and misses having a fenced yard to stretch his legs.

Jorah has not lived with children but has been around them (toddlers to teens) and is comfortable in their company.  He requires some supervision with the little ones as he has his moments of activity and could easily knock one over. Jorah is not crate trained and sleeps on a dog bed through the night, ever hopeful that his person will invite him up on the bed. He loves to be touched and is a pro at snuggling.

If you are interested in adopting Jorah with his loving disposition and silly expressions, please fill out an adoption application.
